Schafberg Gargellen

Our top tip for a family mountain experience

You can reach the beautiful Schafberg in just 8 minutes with the Gargellen cable cars. Once at the top, the majestic Madrisa towers over the Schafberg plateau. The Schafberghüsli restaurant serves delicious regional dishes, tasty ice cream sundaes and an inviting playground. Numerous shorter and longer hikes start from here, even across the border into Switzerland. The circular hiking trail to Lake Ganda or the tours to the Obwald hut or the Kessl hut are particularly recommended. You can also use the mountain carts downhill.

Gargellen has just under 100 inhabitants. The connection is strong. With the village, nature and the people who live here.

In five joint projects, the villagers have single-handedly recultivated a wonderful circular hiking trail through the forest and mountain meadows on the Gargellen Maisäß plain. Impressive highlights await you along the way, such as a lime kiln from the 19th century, interesting facts about Gargellen's geology, an old stable on the Rüti as a contemporary witness to "three-tier farming", the oldest settlement stable in Gargellen is located on the Ronggalpe and you will find perfect hospitality with the finest cakes and Alpine products. Above the Röbi Maisäß you can explore the artwork "Miorama" by Tyrolean artist Daniel Nikolaus Kocher.

Those who embark on the trail will not only witness an exciting journey through time, they will also feel the passion of the people of Gargell in creating the trail.

Hochjoch adventure mountain: A fabulous activity and adventure area awaits here with a lake biotope, slackline course, various stations on the natural forces trail, motor skills playground, climbing net, trampoline and barefoot path. Go downhill on request with the speedy gravity carts!
Alpenwelt Nova: Fresh milk, tangy cheese, soft wool, aromatic herbs - the Nova area is all about regional products and rural crafts, as well as fun and games.
Gourmet mountain Kristberg: The Kristberg is always worth a visit. The scenic beauty, the fabulous view, the "Sieba Brünna" Kneipp facility, the wonderful path to the Fellimännle or the excellent Kaiserschmarren in the Kristberg mountain inn will delight you.
Golm adventure mountain: In summer, Golmi's research trail on the mountain, the forest rope park, Flying Fox, Alpine Coaster Golm, Gauertaler AlpkulTour and the new forest slide park Golm provide great family experiences.

Silvretta-Bielerhöhe

Embedded in the fascinating mountain world, the Silvretta-Bielerhöhe is a true natural paradise and an attractive excursion destination for the whole family. Even the journey there is an extraordinary experience. Spectacular hairpin bends, a wonderful panorama and the Vermunt, Silvretta and Kops lakes right next to the road cast a spell over visitors.

Once you reach an altitude of 2,032 m, completely new perspectives open up. Not only mountain lovers, but also families will love the two-hour circular hike around Lake Silvretta.

A wonderful, panoramic hike for families leads from Lake Kopssee to Lake Wiegensee with refreshments available at the Verbellaalpe.
